Stamping With Bleach

OK - just learned a great new technique that I need to try this weekend!  Stamping with bleach - check out Lisa Johnson's blog Poppy Paperie

Once I try it I will post some images here but in the meantime here are photos from Lisa - check out her blog for more photos and the how-to.

Simple Elegance - Blue-White Card

This has always been one of my favorite cards - simple but elegant.  The matt was textured with Fiskars texture plates (I have alsways liked the "grass" texture and have yet to find a folder similar so resort to the hand embossing).  The ribbon has a slight texture to it that doesn;t overpower it - again, simple elgance.  And while it doesn;t show well in the image, it is nearly an exact match to the back-most matt done using paper from the DCWV Shimmer stack.  The die cut is from an SVG file.

Will enter this to the Moxie Fab World Cure for the Winter Blues challenge.

Love of My Life

I am entering this in two challenges - The Cure for Winter Blues and Unscripted Sketches # 147.  I minimized the flourishes and went for a bit of a masculine feel.  Paper is from my newest favorite - My Minds Eye Lush 2.  I have always loved blue and white (or blue and off-white in this case), so I was thrilled whe I saw the new pack.

Tri-Fold Valentines Card

Loved how my tri-fold baby card came out so did it again for Valentine's Day for my parents.  They loved it!

Paper pack was a steal - $1 at Target.  Yup - just a buck for 8 different coordinating 12x12 papers (I bought all six different sets they had).  Rub-on letters (hug, kiss, love) are Making Memories Rummage, flowers from Spare Parts by Paper Studio; heart stamp from Close to My Heart (embossed with cherry red embossing powder).  Did a little experiment with a Sizzix embossing folder - I inked up the raised portion of the folder with some cherry red ink before embossing - it created a bit of a distressed effect on the de-embossed side.  Kind of cool.

Tri-Fold Baby Card

The wife of one of my long-time colleagues is having a baby so I saw it as a great chance to make a baby card!  Amazingly enough, since starting card making early last year, I have never had a reason for making a baby card so I relished this opportunity.  And funny enough, since then, I have had three more opportunities - babies everywhere :-)

It was also my first go at making a tri-fold card.  I had a blast picking out all the details - ribbons and sliders, embossing (two folders and three powders), stamping, two types of brads, die cuts, flowers, punches, buttons, twine, three printed papers, five different card stocks and lots of adorable paper.

Tri-fold cards are now a regular part of my productions and this one is being entered into the March challenge from the Unique Crafters Challenge blog!
